IMAGINATION STATION

"Honor Your Feelings Festival (2023) - Koreatown, Los Angeles

"Honor Your Feelings" Festival is one-day festival presented by Asian Mental Health Project and LA County Department of Mental Health. Taking place during the month of May as a celebration of both AAPI Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness month, HYF Fest aims to deepen the conversation about mental health in the Pan-Asian community by featuring panel discussions, movement workshops, live music, a community marketplace, wellness workshops, and more.

Faith-Ann creates installations which are inherently meditative, aiming to bid people to slow down, reflect, relax and dream so she was honored to partner with Asian Mental Health project for this event.

For the festival, she created their Imagination Station installation, which included her custom chiffon flags, origami cranes, and meditation chimes.

Throughout the day, attendees were asked to make a wish for the future, write it on Tanzaku paper and add it to the installation to spread it far and wide. Attendees were also encouraged to hang out in the area, on the plush bean bag chairs, and relax; Faith-Ann was honored to see a few even decided to take a nap! See examples below.
