LA Design Weekend : “Sanctuary : Sanctuary City”
I’m honored to participate in this year’s LA Design Weekend with a one-day, immersive installation. My friend, contemporary floral designer Val Jurado and I are creating a much needed, temporary sanctuary for calm, reflection and connection for our community in this tender moment for Los Angeles. Join us at Park + Lex Studios in downtown Los Angeles next Friday September 26, 2025 from 1- 7:30 PM.
This “SANCTUARY : SANCTUARY CITY” installation will include my textile sculptures & Jurado’s vibrant, dynamic floral installation and altar, honoring the spirit of the city and those affected this year by the fires and ICE raids.
Guests are invited to rest, relax, process, journal, and listen to ambient sound meditations. Visitors may add to the altar with a candle, note, or offering, shaping the work into a living monument of collective memory and care. We will also be featuring practitioners, journaling, meditations + a sound bath throughout the day. There will be food, tea, and beverages.
Come and experience this place of rest + repair, a much needed gift to the community.
